Town Players of Newtown is accepting video auditions for our Virtual Holiday Fundraiser. Our program includes Always, Anastasia, a one-act play written and directed by Michele Leigh. Seeking 1 male and 2 female actors. This will be followed by some good old fashion holiday caroling with 12 singers. Read all the details below and send in your video audition for consideration.
Always, Anastasia – Cast of Characters
NICK: A disillusioned cop in his mid-thirties. Nick fulfilled his childhood dream of becoming a NYC police officer but feels disappointed by the reality of it. Nick’s only family is his wife Grace, whom he adores. He is a recovering alcoholic who has been sober for nine years. He is obsessive-compulsive, paranoid and has difficulty sleeping.
DANNI: Nick’s partner in her mid-twenties. Danni is an over-achiever who is a good cop, but always feels the need to prove herself. She is optimistic, ambitious and eager to learn from Nick’s experience. She is tomboy (yet still feminine) who is likable to both men and women.
GRACE: Nick’s wife, a vocalist in her mid-thirties. Grace began singing at an early age and throughout her life used music as a means of escaping the world around her. She is extremely talented but not at all ambitious. She sings with a local chamber choir but prefers to spend time at home with her husband, Nick and their cat, Felix.
