Opera House Players is excited to announce open auditions for a live, virtual reading of CONVICTION, a new play by Alan Kramer with James Tillman.
This original, local play is inspired by the true story of James Tillman, a black man who was wrongfully accused and incarcerated for almost two decades for assaulting a white woman. He ended up being the first person in Connecticut to be exonerated through The Innocence Project, an organization that prioritizes weight to DNA evidence in criminal cases.
The reading will be presented on the evening of Friday, February 27, 2021, by director Shelby C. Davis, in his directorial debut with the Opera House Players.
The performance will be recorded for an encore broadcast over our Facebook and YouTube platforms at a later date.
All rehearsals and the performance will be done virtually. Please go to the OHP website for complete details and instructions.
