New Sides & Scenes Class for Adults in New Haven

Interested in trying or continuing your acting training?  

Mariah Sage, Quinnipiac University Theatre Professor and Founder of Present & Perform, teaches this 5-week class for adults. Whether you are new to scripted acting or have been practicing your craft for years, this course will be challenging and fun.

What you’ll get out of this course:

  • You will be cast in a new scene from a published play, which will be a great fit for you
  • Students will learn how to apply Practical Aesthetics to their scene work to make bold and specific choices
  • Together as a group we will move the scenes from first-read to performance ready
  • Each week students will also have the chance to cold-read new scenes and learn how to make quick, dynamic choices which improve their audition skills

Classroom Location: 50 Elm Street, New Haven, Second Floor

Tuesdays November 7-December 5, 7:30-9:30 pm

$245 for the 5-week, 10-hour class


Adults 18 and over are welcome.

Mariah Sage, AEA actor and founder of Present & Perform, teaches this course. She earned her BFA in drama at NYU/Tisch and her MFA in acting at Brown University/Trinity Rep where she was a Stephen Sondheim Fellow. She has performed with theatres across the nation and in Europe including: Yale Rep, Hartford Stage, The Trinity Rep, The Public Theater, The Cleveland Play House, and The Apollo (Germany).  Mariah served as Director of the Theatre Program at Fairfield University, visiting assistant professor of theatre at Trinity College, and is currently on the theatre faculty at Quinnipiac University.
