Drama Works Theatre Company – Season Casting Call

CTCallboard Logo

“I Have Before me a Remarkable Document Given to me by a Young Lady From Rwanda” is a deeply satisfying, emotional and at times funny play based on the experiences of the playwright, Sonja Linden. It will be directed by Pat Souney. It is the story of Juliette and Simon. Juliette has escaped the horrors of the Rwandan Genocide in 1994 after her entire Tutsi family has been murdered, except perhaps for her brother. She is now living in a hostel in London where she meets Simon at a refugee center. Simon’s job there is to help the refugees heal by telling their stories in the form of short stories or poems. Juliette however has written a book. It’s in Rwandan of course but she fully expects Simon to be able to get it published.
