Auditions for WHO’S HOLIDAY! – Castle Craig Players

Open Auditions for “WHO’S HOLIDAY!”
By Matthew Lombardo
Directed by Ian Galligan & Oliver Kochol

AUDITION DATE: Sunday, September 19 from 2-5pm
PERFORMANCE DATES: December 9–12, 2021
REHEARSALS: Script will be provided upon acceptance of role to begin memorization. In-person rehearsals will begin in late October/early November.
LOCATION: Almira Stephan Memorial Playhouse, 59 West Main St., Meriden

ABOUT THE SHOW: It’s Christmas Eve and the now 40-year-old Cindy Lou Who lives in her shoddy trailer home on Mount Crumpit, former hideout of the infamous Grinch. While she awaits her Christmas party guests, she regales listeners with the bizarre journey her life has taken since that fateful night in Whoville when a certain Grinch tried to steal Christmas. This hysterical and wild one-woman parody is a must-see for mischievous theatre-goers this holiday season!

SEEKING: CINDY LOU WHO, now all grown up. Unlike the bright-eyed character of her youth, she is no longer an innocent. Having been dealt a tough hand in the game of life, she desperately attempts to remain cheery in all situations. Despite her style-challenged attire and now poorly permed bleached blond hair, there still is a glimmer of hope in her beaten down spirit.

Please note this is a one-person show, and requires a performer who can memorize 80 minutes of solo material (all written in Dr. Seuss-style rhyme). Strong comedic timing and the ability to portray multiple characters is a must. Must be comfortable with adult language and innuendo (all in fun, nothing lude or offensive).

Please prepare the monologue below (memorized preferably). We encourage you to make strong character choices.
