The Connecticut Gilbert & Sullivan Society will be holding auditions on May 17th 6PM-8PM and May 18th 7PM-9PM for its October 2020 production of RUDDIGORE. Auditions will be held at Congregation Adath Israel, 8 Broad Street, Middletown, CT.

Those who are trying out for one of the principal roles in the show must audition; both singing something (preferably from a G&S show) and doing one or more readings. Remember to bring sheet music for our accompanist.

If you have sung/performed with us before, and are not trying out for one of the principal roles and would like to be in our chorus, you do not need to audition.  However, if you are intending to join our men’s or women’s chorus please send an email to John Freedman ( cc: John Dreslin ( and Spencer Reese ( so that we we can get an idea of the size of choruses and know to expect you when we begin rehearsals.

Rehearsals for principals and chorus are held Sunday evenings 6-9PM at Congregation Adath Israel, Middletown, CT. Our first rehearsal will be Sunday, June 21st.  Additional rehearsals are held midweek evenings just for principals for them to rehearse the music, dialog, choreography, and blocking for their specific roles, with different weeks in the midweek rehearsal schedule being set aside to cover the different principal roles.

The show will be performed Saturday, October 17th at 2PM and 7:30PM and Sunday, October 18th at 2PM.
