Center Stage Theatre artistic director Gary Scarpa has announced that auditions for “Anything Goes” will take place on Saturday, November 24th between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Scarpa said, “We are seeking talented actors, singers and dancers to fill all roles. The show will be cast with age appropriate actors.”
The production will be directed by Martin Scott Marchitto, who has directed throughout the state. Marchitto will be assisted by Aron Smith as musical director and Rob Merante as choreographer.
The classic Cole Porter musical features an evangelist-turned-nightclub singer, a lovelorn stockbroker wooing a lovely debutante, the debutante’s British lord fiancé, and a gangster disguised as a minister – all of whom turn up on a luxury cruise liner to sing, dance and romance.
“Anything Goes is certainly one of the funniest musicals ever written. And with an immortal score by Cole Porter, it’s a real winner,” said Scarpa.
Candidates are required to sing one minute of a song of their choice and take part in a dance movement audition. Candidates may bring sheet music (as an accompanist will be present) or sing with a recording.
