Play: Camel and The Snowman

Synopsis: A “serious issue” playwright’s reaction to his corniest play winning a local writing contest dismays his wife, the actors, and audience during its premier performance.

Roles 1 and 2:

Phineas – The playwright is male of any mature age, although preferred over 40. He needs to exhibit extreme emotion, from frustration, to outrage, to sadness, and to hope. A vulnerable human who is hoping the world will want to hear his serious message.

Snowman – A male with good comic timing. Bold.

Play: The Little Man in the Boat

Synopsis: The Little Man in the Boat is a classic tale of man’s search for something that he simply doesn’t understand. Mason Bernstein is being interviewed by Clara Toto and Ida Mansard. The purpose of this interview is as murky as Mason’s understanding of his new paramour.

Role 3:

Mason Bernstein, 20s – 30s: A young man, well-intentioned but a little bit clueless. He’s entirely in the dark about why he’s being asked all these questions, though he’s eager to do well.
