The Somers Village Players will be holding open auditions for their September/October 2017 presentation of Oscar Wilde’s The Importance of Being Earnest.

The Importance of Being Earnest is the most renowned of Oscar Wilde’s comedies. Two bachelors, John ‘Jack’ Worthing and Algernon ‘Algy’ Moncrieff, create alter egos named Ernest to escape their tiresome lives. The pair struggle to keep up with their own stories and become tangled in a tale of deception, disguise and misadventure in attempt to win the hearts of two women who, conveniently, claim to only love men called Ernest.

Audition dates: May 24 & 25 … check in starts 6:00 PM, auditions start at 6:30 PM. The cast will include 5 men and 4 women. Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script. A theatre resume and/or headshot is encouraged but not required. For more details, character descriptions, and full directions, please go to www.somersvillageplayers.org.
