Seven Angels Theatre STAGE 7 (Non-Equity) Division will be holding OPEN AUDITIONS for the upcoming Holiday show, CHRISTMAS EVE AT EARLENE’S DINER. The show written and directed by Semina Delaurentis, with musical direction by Nathanial Baker, is based on the character, Earlene Babcock, created by Michelle Gotay. Auditions will be held on Sunday, September 16th (4:30-7PM) and Monday, September 17th (6-8PM). The show run dates are December 7-16 (with possible add-on shows between December 18-20). Rehearsals will follow a non-Equity rehearsal schedule (weekday evenings and some weekends), beginning October 7. Winds howl and snow flies, as a full-fledged blizzard rages just outside Earlene’s Diner on Christmas Eve. Earlene’s Diner has run into tough times and is about to be demolished but it proves to be a last-minute haven for an entire group of talented performers who are trying to make it to St. Francis Church for a nationally televised Christmas show. Busload by busload and one by one, the television people end up at Earlene’s. When the roads are no longer passable, and cast and crew are all stuck at the diner, the director decides to do the show live at Earlene’s. Fast-paced and filled with songs such as “We Need a Little Christmas,” “Feliz Navidad,” “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree,” and many others, including a whole medley of favorite Christmas songs, the spirit of the season comes alive as the gang puts on “The Best Dang Christmas Variety Show Ever”. Seeking singers/dancers ALL AGES (10 years old and up**) to play various characters “stuck” at the Diner on Christmas Eve. Those wishing to audition should prepare 32 bars of a song of their choice. Christmas Songs would certainly be welcome, but not necessary. PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN SHEET MUSIC, as an accompanist will be provided. Those wanting to be considered as a dancer in the show, please come prepared to perform a short (<1 minute) dance routine. No appointment necessary (ages 10 and up). Sign-in sheet upon arrival.
**May cast one or two small children under age 7. Please contact casting@sevenangelstheatre.org for age 7 and under appointment only.
