The Connecticut Gilbert & Sullivan Society (CG&SS) is seeking a Technical Director for its October 13th & 14th 2018 production of THE MIKADO.
The Technical Director will be responsible for the design and construction of the set for the show. They will also be responsible for scheduling and coordinating work activities for our master carpenter and volunteers from our group who will assist them in set construction, set-up, break down, and transport, and hanging and taking down backdrop(s). Additional responsibilities will include transporting our set pieces to the venue and setting them up on the stage, and breaking the set down after the show, transporting set pieces from the venue and putting them back into storage. During the show the Technical Director will be responsible for actuating moving parts of the set (if there are any) and directing and executing any required set changes.
The show venue is the Performing Arts Center at Valley Regional H.S., Deep River, CT. Set pieces from our previous production of this show are in a barn in Guilford, CT.
The candidate should have prior experience designing and building sets and performing the other duties and carrying out the responsibilities identified above.
