Class Description: Students will participate in games, exercises, and scenes to allow them to increase their comfort and technique in portraying a character onstage. Topics will include basic scene work, storytelling, puppetry, and movement. The focus of this class is improvisation (other theater techniques will also be included within this class). Students will often be given vague scenarios to complete utilizing only their creative skills and knowledge of improvisation. Students will learn how to be able to say “YES” in any improvisational situation. Family and friends are invited to the last class to see students present poems, monologues, or scenes.
