The University of Hartford’s Hartt School Community Division in Connecticut has begun accepting applications for their popular Summer Musical Theatre Intensive programs, led by Hartt voice faculty and program director Michelle Murray Fiertek. Summer Musical Theatre Preprofessional and Junior programs are exceptional summer-study opportunities for young performers to develop their acting, singing, and dance skills while working closely with top industry professionals. The programs culminate in showcase performances that are tailored specifically to the participants.

Actor Kenneth Cavett and Broadway music director Wendy Cavett (Hamilton/Come From Away/Mamma Mia) will return this year as co-artistic directors of SMTI Preprofessional. Other faculty includes New York-based actress and writer Moira O-Sullivan, choreographer Kaitlyn Krewson (Conn.), and assistant music director Mark Ceppetelli (The Hartt School).
