The Saybrook Stage Company will be holding auditions for male actors (age range 25 to 60) for their July production of “Barefoot in the Park” at The Katharine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center in Old Saybrook, CT on Monday evening, May 22nd from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Please note that all of our actors participate in our shows on a volunteer basis.
Sides will be provided at auditions and are also available in advance by scheduling an audition time by emailing: firstname.lastname@example.org
Character Description of Paul Bratter Paul Bratter, Corie’s husband, a young, newly married attorney in his first job. Both his dress and his outlook are very conservative. Extremely proper and dignified, he always knows the right thing to say. He is levelheaded and practical, and he keeps his emotions in check, perhaps too much so. After his wife, Corie, accuses him of lacking playfulness, he shows her that he, too, is capable of walking barefoot in the park.
Character Description of Harry Pepper (Telephone Repairman) A good-humored, ordinary guy who makes observations on everyday life and relationships as he installs and fixes telephones. He witnesses, to his mortification, a fight between Corie and Paul. A warm, natural, quick wit and excellent comic timing needed.
Please email us at: email@example.com if you would like to audition so we can schedule an appointment time for your convenience and email you the sides. Walk-ins are also welcome that evening! If you have any questions, please feel free to email. Please note that there are no roles for children in this production. All auditioning actors must be 21 years of age or older.
When entering The Kate for the auditions, please use the back door marked “Employees Only” and follow signs for the auditions. The Saybrook Stage production of “Barefoot in the Park” will run from July 13th though the 16th at The Katharine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center. Rehearsals will begin the first week of June and will primarily take place on Sunday late afternoon/evenings and Monday & Tuesday evenings. Visit www.saybrookstage.org for further information.
