The Connecticut Gilbert & Sullivan Society (CG&SS) is holding auditions for its October 14th & 15th 2017 production of
This may be the best show you’ve never heard of, or seen, or performed in. But if you have then you know that it is a true hidden gem with a fun and engaging story line, a host of funny characters, and some of the best music in the entire G&S canon. As an extra added bonus, Ida has a large cast of principals, affording a number of opportunities to perform in one of the principal roles.

If you are auditioning with a song that is not from Princess Ida, please bring a copy for our accompanist, of the sheet music of the song you will be using for your audition. If you are auditioning for a principal role in the show, you will also be asked to read that character’s dialog from one of the scenes in which they appear.
CG&SS productions include full sets and staging, professional caliber singers, costumes, and a full orchestra. Rehearsals are held in Middletown, CT every Sunday evening for chorus and principals. There are some additional rehearsals on Tuesday evenings for just the principals to work on dialog, blocking, and solos (duets, trios, etc.). Rehearsals start in July and run throughout the Summer and early Fall up to the show date. The show venue is the Performing Arts Center, Valley Regional High School, Deep River, CT.
