Adult Master Class: Contemporary Musical Theatre Audition Technique

Learn from Broadway stars this summer at Playhouse on Park! Broadway actor and teaching artist Michelle Pruiett is lined up to teach Contemporary Musical Theatre Audition Technique on Monday, July 23 from 6:30-8:30pm. Friends of the theater may remember Pruiett from the Playhouse’s production of A Chorus Line in 2016!
While touring the country, and when in NYC, Michelle Pruiett has taught master classes with Broadway Classroom, Broadway Connection as well as many performing arts schools and programs throughout the country. Michelle also currently does private college auditon coaching and musical theater coaching.

Learn everything from how to get into the room with a headshot and resume review, to what to do from when you enter the room to when you leave it. Including finding the appropriate song choice for your audition, to engaging the table when you walk in, how to talk to an accompanist about your music, and how to tell a story in a 16 or 32 bar cut. Michelle will work to help you present your best self in a supportive environment as a singer and actor auditioning with contemporary music and style.

This class is one of three Summer Adult Master Classes offered by Playhouse on Park. Other classes include: Broadway Dance: Fosse, instructed by Stephanie Pope on July 9, and The Art of Clowning, instructed by Eric Robertson (another former Chorus Line alum!) on July 16.
